In addition to the courses offered at the university there are a number of opportunities to learn, or enhance your GIS skills. 

ESRI Virtual Campus | ESRI Academy
ESRI offers a large selection of free, self-guided, trainings ranging from introductory (ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Pro) to the more advanced or specialized (Field Data Collection, Experience Builder, etc.).  To access these you will need to first request a license for ArcGIS Online from gis-help@uiowa.edu. Once you have a license, use the following steps to browse available trainings:

1. Login to your account @ https://uiowa.maps.arcgis.com.
2. Click on your name/account settings in the upper right corner of the screen. Select "Training".
3. From the ESRI Academy menu bar, select "Catalog" and then "Course Catalog".
4. Click the options for "Maintenance" and "Free", those are the trainings available to you free of charge under our license agreement.
5. Browse or search for the topics of interest to you, and enjoy!
